Self-guided Tour: 5 Generations, one Port

Twelve clips of 2-3 minutes telling the history of the Quays of the Old Port. Our history.

Through the fictitious family story of a former port worker, Bob Bordeleau, you will discover what was happening on the various quays of the Old Port and the popular neighbourhoods from these past two centuries.

View the clips on this page or even better, come to the Quays with your portable mutlimedia device.

  1. Print-out the map (PDF, 1 MB).
    Note: If your device is not wi-fi enabled, download the clips below before coming on site.
  2. Go to the Clock Tower Quay, near the Bonsecours Bassin.
  3. Connect to our free Wi-Fi, watch the clips, and explore the site by moving from one point to the other.

Downloads

The suggested tour goes from East to West, from the Clock Tower Quay to the Harbour Commission Head Office. While following the instructions of the narrator to go from one clip to the other, we invite you to download and print out the map of the Quays, or to go get it at the Jacques-Cartier Information Booth.

On the Quays, Wi-Fi is free. On site, select the wireless network called "Quais du Vieux-Port", open a browser window, click "Connexion" and there you are.
